CT Scan - Orbits
CT Orbits - Overview & TechniqueA computed tomography (CT) scan of the orbit is an imaging method that uses x-rays to create detailed pictures of the eye sockets (orbits) and eyes (globes). In this procedure, a contrast dye may be injected into a vein before the test. You lie on a table that can be moved by the technician operating the scanner. Only your head is positioned inside the CT scanner. The exam usually lasts no more than a few minutes. You may be allowed to rest your head on a pillow, but this must be done before the scan begins. It is very important that once your head is in place, you do not move it during the test CT Orbits - Alternative Names and ExplanationsCT Scan - orbital, eye CT scan, CT scan of the eyes, eye orbits CT, CT Scan - Orbits/IAC w/o contrast 74150, CT Scan - Orbits/IAC with contrast 74160, CT Scan - Orbits/IAC with & w/o contrast 74170, Orbital CT, CT of the orbits CT Orbits - Benefits (versus Other Diagnostic Options)
